A yin to the yang of strong Asana; Yin and restorative practices are equally as important to your physical and energetic well being. Yin helps to renourish, replenish and rejuvenate the body, while balancing the nervous system with breath and awareness to bring a state of bliss within and without. With long holds, slow fluid mindful movements and deep energetic prompts one can reach the fascia and depths of the muscles and the senses. The slower you go the more detailed and refined yoga practice becomes. A beautiful practice for any student newer to yoga, healing from an injury or seeking more mindful sacred movements. Each practice is paired with Pranayama and Mantra to further ground, connect and bring balance to the nervous system, allowing the balance to radiate from within.
Layna has been a surfer her whole life and has led sessions on countless surf retreats around the world to compliment a heavy surfing routine. Whether you are looking to strengthen surfing muscles, find more flexibility in the body where this mobility will benefit surf maneuvers or are looking to restore the body after extensive surf sessions, this style of yoga is the path to all. A consistent yoga practice as well trains the mind to remain still and focused in the water, aiding in a deep surrender and connection of all that is, heightening the senses with a profound presence creating a beautiful communication with the mind, body and nervous system. Breathe, meditation and asana helps to train the mind to stay calm in moments of stress. Invoking the rest and digest nervous system while the mind is sending messages of flight or flight in unnecessary times. Remaining still and present in the mind, body and breath amongst the turbulence will aid tremendously in surfing and radiate outward to all aspects of life.
Pranayama is an ancient Vedic practice in fine tuning and enlivening the 'prana' or life force within us. Prana runs through every living being and can become stagnant without a regular awareness and practice. Breathwork is simply a tool to harness this prana and use it to tune into our being within and without. There are countless breathe techniques that help calm and stabilize the nervous system, as well as cultivating a deeper awareness to the energetic body to better master this life. Layna has studied these techniques in the foothills of the Himalayas at the base of the Ganges, sharing this deep knowledge from the source. She has found that breathwork helps to stabilize the mind to reside more in the parasympathetic rest and digest mode, and stay out of the toxic stressful sympathetic mode causing fight or flight when it is unnecessary. Pranayama is a beautiful tool to strengthen freediving, surfing and other athletic goals. To practice a breathless state, or lengthen breath holds through pranayama is a space where no problems can exist and the mind embraces that sweet field of silence.
Meditation or a withdrawing of the senses practicing Pratyahara to find that sweet field of silence that is the sacredness and connection to a higher space lying in the depths of our being. A softening and quieting of the mind is a lot easier said than done. Layna has studied these Himalayan meditation techniques at the base of the Ganges, which incorporate breathe, mantra and a one pointed awareness. For more of a guided mediation experience Layna can take you through Nidras, that provide more of a journey within a yogic sleep state. Through verbal prompts, sound healing and aromas, this journey will take you through the layers of self to explore that infinite universe that lies within you.
Experience this heart opening Journey to connect and tap Into the divine energy of cacao. A cacao ceremony is an Ancient Mayan shamanic ritual rooted to rebalance the sacred energies within us and help us to find a deeper clarity and connection within ourselves, the earth, each other and the universal power we all share. This plant medicine represents the divine feminine power of Mother Earth. With the large amounts of nurturing fats, proteins, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, flavonoids and sacred charged energies the cacao will facilitate any stagnant blockages, physical, mental and emotional through the layers of the bodies to further connect us with the elements and our ancestral Wisdom of this divine creation. Ultimately shifting our perspective to a higher source. Scientifically cacao increases the blood flow from the heart to the brain to the skin, increasing circulation and inner healing guiding us to live through our hearts rather than our heads to embrace a full life of compassion and contentment. Layna has been called to lead these ceremonies after attending and studying the practices throughout central and South America.

Kriya is an ancient from of yoga that aids in releasing bio-cellular trauma and memory that can stem back from lineages and lives beyond our recolection. This style was discovered in the Himalayans by the Hindu religion and has been passed down through Buddhism and even western yoga philosophers. The Kriyas vary from repetitive breathes, mantras and mudras that begin to activate Kundalini, which is associated with our life force, prana being that infinite power within us. Kundalini is an electric, energizing, cleansing sensation that is dormant in most humans whom are not aware of the sacred divine energy that lives within us. Breaking through the barriers of illusion and ego we reawaken our kundalini through kriya helping to cleanse the body, mind and spirit. Bringing us deeper to our dharma, our truest highest potential to be the masters of this life.
